PostSubject: My hubby's car caught fire   My hubby's car caught fire Icon_minitimeFri Jan 15, 2010 1:12 am

Its not fair...we only had 2 months left to pay and the car would have been paid off... but while driving home from his weekly board game play my husband drove over some trash...it got caught under the car and ignited. Thankfully someone noticed and gently forced him off the road then pulled him out and said "Dude your car is on fire"

The guy then helped my husband rescue what they could from the car before the flames got too bad waited with him for the police and stayed with him during the 2 hours it took for my hubby to be allowed to come home... then the stranger gave him a ride.

SO when my husband woke me up the first thing he said to me was the car burnt up. Boy did i flip....it was dark I was half asleep and couldn't see him.... and then he walked out of the bedroom and said goodnight

right cause I was so rolling over and going back to sleep after that comment.

But my hubby is fine no damage except to the car. Insurance reports have been filed. And I hope whatever God the stranger worships blesses him greatly for being so kind.

ahhhhh so sorry to hear about the car! But, glad hubbie is ok!!! And, I'm sorry, I did have to laugh a little at you and hubby's reactions and responses to it!! I can just see the whole thing...wakes you up, Oh, btw, the car burnt up, good night!

It reminds me of some of my responses to things when in that catatonic half sleep state... my kids loved it when they were young... "Hey Mom, can I borrow $20 and go party with my friends?" response... buried head under pillow, grmble grmble whatever.... then when I finally woke up later, I would be screaming, "Who the Hell took money from my wallet? And, where's your brother? Why isn't he home????"

Lol judy...I'm the same way...one time my husband asked me something when i was sleeping about a cheque i left out for my mom to pick up and I started mumbling something back....he asked if i knew what i was talking about and i said "ya, the curtains" he started laughing hysterically and i woke up realizing i had been talking nonsense and had no idea what i was talking about.

That must have been a terrifying experience for you, but especially for your hubby! I am so glad everyone is okay, and I know how much of a hastle it was for you. Things always end up working out for the bed, in my experience, no matter how daunting they may appear at the time. Just be thankful your hubby made it home all in one piece!
