We made this trip before I had my hip replacement... Dave still had to help me on and off the bike... and by the time the week was over.. well, everytime I got on or off the bike... I was in tears.. by the time we got home, I could barely move, let alone walk... This summer we're looking at attending "Little Sturgis" in Kentucky, thankfully it's in July instead of May... anyway, here a some pics from that trip...
It was a 700+ mile trip ONE WAY... we rode down - NO trailering sissy stuff for us! When we took off at 7am, it was around 40 degrees and raining.. it rained all the way to South Carolina... and man, at 80 mph, in 40 degrees and rain.. it's FREAKIN COLD!! lol We road 500 miles the first day, and did the 200 miles to Dave's sister's house in South Car. the next day.. stayed there 2 days, then off to Myrtle Beach... {his sis lives about 60 miles from Myrtle}..
Dave and his bro-in-law cleaning the bikes... at Dave's sis's house in S. Car... a day before we rode to Myrtle..
Dave's bro-in-law, Chuck, cleaning his and Pat's {Dave's sister} bikes..
Dave cleaning our "baby"..
Dave's brother, Bub, with his "baby".. we rode from PA to SC with Bub and his wife..
Pretty ladies, all clean and waiting for the "ride"...
Flying down the highway in Myrtle, on our way to "Suck, Bang, Blow"... you can just see me in the mirror... the bike in front of us is Bub and Kathy... the bikes in the right lane are Chuck on the left and Pat on the right... do you know how hard it is to take pics from the back of a bike doing 80mph??
Dave's sister flying past us!
And there she goes!
Chuck {left} and Dave {right} checking out the bed in our "cottage"! Goof balls!
One of the bars we stopped at.. everywhere was crowded with bikes and bikers..
Outside Hard Rock Cafe and Amusement Park.. just a cool trailer!
Close-up...
He said she was the quietest rider ever!
Parking at Hard Rock..
Our bartender at "Suck, Bang, Blow".. had to tip her to get up on the bar!
The "burn-out" pit at "Suck, Bang, Blow".. They sell tires for after you've burned off the tires on your bike!! LOL
See, it really IS the name of the bar...
The cops were out in full force that week... Dave in white t-shirt, cop walking next to him..
VietNam vet.. lost his legs... still rides! God Bless!
Seriously, had a great time despite the pain I was in... doc gave me some really strong pain meds and some prednisone for the trip... when I got back, doc scheduled my hip replacement for August... close to the closing of bike season.. lol This past summer was better... still have pain most days, but my hip is much better since the replacement!
