Anyway here is the palette im thinking of using: http://www.colourlovers.com/palette/417287/Modern_Rain And here is a pic of what i have come up with so far probably too much green. Please tell me what you all think. | |

| I would change the floor to something solid, then maybe you could make the largest part of the wall an off-white? Take the blue you have on the large part now and try it in the lower stripe, and move the color in the lower stripe into the upper stripe. If you did that, you might actually be able to leave the floor as is. | |

| Okay, I think you're going to have to change the floor to a solid and probably not blue. For some reason, the walls still look blue to me and I think it might be a cast from the floor. | |

| I actually liked your first pic better. That's a good palette. I found a few more for you if you want to try them that I think would work well for a modern.

| Thanks julia i think im gonna give the portland winter sky a try if it doesnt look right i will stick with modern rain. But what do you think of the floor? And is carpet used in modern homes or hardwood floors? In my research it appeared that hardwood floors were used alot. | |

| I see lots of hardwood, stainless steel, marble, etc. And in living rooms, those really fuzzy white area rugs. I like your floor, but I think it would look better as a border, and then solid color in the middle. But again, it will depend on your furniture placement and what your using it for. I like going with wood floors a lot, then I can add rugs without it looking too busy. | |

| Ok here is the change made with the new colors. The top pic is with the grayish color for the wood and the bottom pic is with a darker color for the wood. | |

| Looking better! I would lighten the light blue on the walls a little, though. | |

| I like the Blue. I just feel the wooden floor in blue is not ideal. Maybe do a tile there.
You have a Pop color that u r going to use in your Furniture?
Keep up the good work.

| Are you still using the Modern Rain pallette? I ask because your colours look very blue when the overall pallette has more of a green feel to it. Do you use any ceiling lights while you decorate? I always put tons of the up to make the room nice and light, then when I've finished I take them down and place the proper lighting. I find I can see the colour better that way and how they are working together. Just a thought, as overall it seem rather dark to me. | |

| Hi Craig,
I think you should go with a wood floor in a traditional colour, or a marble type floor with area rugs. The last picture you have uses a carpet and a rug and just doesn't look right to me.
Have fun!

| Make sure you leave at last one tile like it is now! Just in case. Experimenting is fun, I agree it wouldn't hurt. | |

| That's a great idea! It's amazing how much a new wood grain can change the whole feel of a room. Please post more pics for us! Your living room is starting to look really great! | |

| Wow, I haven't checked in for a while but this looks really good now =] I agree with Darkside, that maybe you could try to check on different wood colors/grains...maybe a wider plank in a lighter (whitish maybe?) color? You don't have to keep it that way obviously but I'm just wondering what it would look like. | |
