Lot Number: 100
Lot Address: 9 Victoria Drive - 30x30 lot
Lot Name: Leighton House circa 1820
Details and Rational:
This house is as authentic to the time period, circa 1820, as I can make it in the Sims 3. During this time period, inside plumbing was not widely used, nor were there bathrooms as we know them today. Therefore, on this lot, I have included an outhouse, and a wash house which would double as a bathing room. The entrance to the root cellar is attached to the wash house and includes a small ice-house. There are 4 bedrooms upstairs - Master, nursery, a nanny's room, and a guest room. All bedrooms except the nannies have chamber pots under the beds. There are servant quarters in the attic, and a butler's pantry in the kitchen. There is a serving hall between the kitchen and the dining room, where food and wine would be placed prior to serving. At this period of Victorian builds, the interiors were light and airy, quite different from what most think of as the Victorian era of dark walls, floors, and furniture which existed during the late Victorian era of the late 1800's. There is a vegetable garden and grape vines as well as a gazebo.
I covered up the angled wall of the CFE stairs outside with a "woodshed" attached to the side of the house.
I used quite a bit of MOO on this lot. The "toilet" in the outhouse looks like it's "blocked" by the bench, but it IS functional, as is the refridgerator. There are fire alarms at all fireplaces, there is no buglar alarm installed, as there were no such thing back then. I placed fire alarms only due to the fact of so many fireplaces and the closeness to the fireplaces of furniture and rugs.
I wasn't able to fix the issue with the roof not working correctly over the tower portion of the porch. But, in-game, it does not show up, and everything functions well. The only time it "shows" is when in cameraman mode. I tried everything to make the roof work properly, but after tearing down and rebuilding 5 times, nothing worked, and I just built the lot.
CREDITS to Mutske, Cashcraft, Nanu, Shakeshaft, Lisa9999 and any other creators I've forgotten at TSR for their lovely CC that helped make this build possible.
